Green Mill Run in eastern NC is a spot I frequent for finding creek fossils. The constantly running water and erosional streambed produces fossils as it wears away at the various geologic layers present in that area.
The Aurora Fossil Museum in Aurora, NC is THE place to dry dig for fossils. Mine tailings from a local phosphate mine are dumped into big pits that can be searched through using shovels and sieves.
